During a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, significant decisions regarding the ‘Kissan Package’ were made:
Establishment of Punjab Kissan Bank: A Punjab Kissan Bank will be established to provide farmers with loans on favorable terms.
CM Punjab Green Tractor Scheme: Approval has been granted for the CM Punjab Green Tractor Scheme, which aims to provide subsidies to farmers for tractor purchases.
Subsidy Allocation: Instead of a mere Rs. 6 lakh subsidy on a tractor, the chief minister has directed to provide a 70% subsidy on small tractors and a 50% subsidy on large tractors.
Expansion of Tractor Scheme: The number of tractors under the Punjab Green Tractor Scheme has been increased by 10,000, as proposed by Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
