Despite the deductions that occur with shop distributions, there is no life-threatening risk, unlike the chaotic conditions at the camp sites. Final Installments and Eligibility Criteria
Moving forward, let’s address the eligibility criteria and the final installments for the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP). Many beneficiaries encountered a zero balance error on the 8171 web portal. Although this issue has been resolved for the majority, a significant number of women are now being shown as ineligible on the 8171 web portal post-resolution. It’s important to note that not all women have been deemed ineligible. Only those who participated in the dynamic survey and whose PMT (Proxy Means Test) score exceeded 32 are considered eligible. These women will receive their final installment if they are part of the first phase. Those in the second phase will start receiving their installments after May 25. Women whose PMT score remains below 32 are still eligible according to the 8171 web portal, post-zero balance resolution. If they completed the dynamic survey and their details were updated in the dynamic registry, they are eligible for the Benazir Kafalat Program as well as the utility store subsidy. The PMT score threshold for the utility store subsidy is 40. There are also individuals who are not part of BISP but are eligible for the utility store subsidy. This time, the PKR 5,000 installment is being given only to those who meet all three criteria on the 8171 web portal: they must be enrolled in the dynamic registry, eligible for the Benazir Kafalat Program, and eligible for the utility store subsidy. For those in the second phase, installment distributions will commence after May 25.
