Nawaz Sharif Kisan Card Scheme:
Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister of Punjab, approved the “Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Kisan Card Project which aims to improve the socioeconomic standing of farmers in the province and the agricultural industry. The agriculture department was instructed by Maryam Nawaz to compile information on the supply and demand for each crop. The summit also approved the creation of a cutting-edge centre of excellence for wheat, rice, and cotton research and development. The meeting determined that a board would oversee the centre of excellence’s administrative operations, that the research centre would collaborate with nearby colleges, and that a research and development centre would be established at Agriculture University Faisalabad for Rs 2 billion, with Chinese assistance.
Easy Loan For Farmers:
This meeting on agricultural reforms was chaired by the CM. She said that 500,000 small farmers would receive easy-to-repay loans using the Kisan card. This loan, which has a 150 billion rupee value, will be provided in a year. Additionally, loans of Rs 30,000 per acre would be provided to farmers so they could buy insecticides, fertilisers, and seeds.

Subsidies For Farmers:
She also mentioned that farmers would receive a variety of subsidies under the Nawaz Sharif Kisan Card. The business sector will assist in the establishment of model agriculture centres, it was decided at the meeting. These model agriculture centres would supply seeds, insecticides, training, and modern farming technology. In the first phase, the CM approved the establishment of a state-of-the-art agriculture centre in every district.

Agriculture Technology:
The Agriculture Pesticide Act and Fertilizer Control Act would be amended to prevent the selling of counterfeit fertilisers and pesticides. The reorganisation of the Punjab Agricultural Research Board and Punjab Seed Corporation was reviewed at the meeting. It decided to induct 500 agricultural graduates and provide the Agriculture Extension Wing with contemporary technologies.

Agriculture Modern Equipment Given To Customers:
The gathering was informed that 24800 contemporary pieces of equipment, valued at Rs 7 billion, would be provided to farmers in two years. Senior Punjab Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Punjab Agriculture Minister Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, and other officials attended the meeting.
