The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has recently unveiled the Electric Bike Scheme, aimed at addressing the transportation challenges faced by students in continuing their education. Recognizing the importance of providing accessible and sustainable mobility solutions, the initiative endeavors to empower students across Punjab, ensuring unhindered access to educational opportunities.
Online Registration Method:
To facilitate enrollment in the Electric Bike Scheme, an online registration process has been implemented. Eligible students can avail themselves of this opportunity by completing the registration form available on the designated platform. Through this streamlined process, applicants can submit their details accurately, ensuring a seamless application experience.

The Electric Bike Scheme Benefits:

The scheme is set to commence distribution in 2024, with eligible students receiving electric bikes according to the predetermined schedule. Applicants are required to deposit an initial amount of 10,000 rupees to secure ownership, followed by monthly installments. Additionally, alternative options, such as petrol bikes, are available with corresponding installment plans.

Total Number of Bikes:
In line with the initiative’s objectives, a total of 20,000 electric bikes have been allocated for distribution among students in Punjab. This allocation underscores the government’s commitment to meeting the transportation needs of students across urban and rural areas.

Quota Allocation for Urban and Rural Areas:
To ensure equitable distribution, quotas have been designated for urban and rural areas. Urban areas will allocate 50% of bikes to both male and female students, whereas rural areas will distribute 70% to male students and 30% to female students, reflecting the unique needs of each demographic.

Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for the Electric Bike Scheme, students must meet the following criteria:
- Age Range: Applicants must be between 18 and 25 years old.
- Educational Enrollment: Eligibility extends to students enrolled in colleges or universities across Punjab.
